Mom came down to DC last Friday and we explored the city. Here is the story of our adventure in photos.
We started out at my work and walked the whole block and a half to the White House. Tons of protestors for about any issue you could think of.
The Old Executive Office Building next to the White House.
Across the street is the Corcoran Gallery and the Red Cross HQ.
I could be completely wrong, but i think this is where they hold the outdoor press conferences at the White House, also known as the Rose Garden.
This is a sign from the neighborhood where I work. My metro stop is McPherson Square. It's right below my building.
We went to the wonderful
Old Ebbitt Grill for lunch. This is the place to be and be seen in DC.
Checking out the Capitol Building through the streets of DC.
The Washington Monument and rain clouds.
The National Archives.
We did a quick run-through in the National Museum of American History.
Walked through the beautiful National Butterfly Garden.
The Capitol Building from the National Mall.
We walked by the National Museum of the Native American.
Then we finally made it to Capitol hill.
And checked out the National Botanical Garden.
Both inside,
and out.
It was a wonderful day and a great adventure and I can't wait to do it again!
